Burkina Faso and Russia are exploring the possibility of establishing a direct air route between the two countries, a move aimed at bolstering their deepening bilateral relationship. This development was confirmed by Burkina Faso's Ambassador to Russia, Aristide Tapsoba, during the Technoprom-2025 forum in Novosibirsk.
The discussions are currently focused on the practicalities of launching a direct flight route. This initiative comes as Russia seeks to expand its international aviation network in the face of ongoing Western sanctions.
Should the direct Ouagadougou-Moscow air link come to fruition, it would represent a significant step in enhancing economic and diplomatic cooperation between Burkina Faso and Russia.
