Jamaican sprint hurdler Ackera Nugent has been crowned the women's 100m hurdles Diamond League champion after a stunning performance in Brussels. The 22-year-old clocked a sensational time of 12.30s (-0.6) to secure the title, marking a significant milestone in her career.
Nugent’s blistering time placed her ahead of a stacked field. Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji ran an impressive race, equalling her national record with a time of 12.40s to finish in a strong second place. The podium was rounded out by American Grace Stark, who took third with a time of 12.44s. Reigning World Champion and fellow Jamaican Danielle Williams finished just off the podium in fourth place, with the same time as Stark.
Nugent's victory highlights her dominance in the event this season and solidifies her position as a major contender on the global stage.
