Casablanca, Morocco - Nigeria's U-17 women's national team, the Flamingos, have officially arrived in Casablanca, Morocco, as they begin their final preparations for the 2025 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, set to run from October 17th to November 8th.
Head Coach Bankole Olowookere, who famously led the team to a historic bronze medal at the 2022 edition, has named his final 21-player squad, expressing confidence that this "Class of 2025" has the potential to surpass the previous achievement.
The squad features a blend of talent from across the Nigerian domestic league, including key players like attacking midfielder Shakirat Moshood (Bayelsa Queens), goalkeeper Sylvia Echefu (Bayelsa Queens), defender Jumai Adebayo (Rivers Angels), and forward Queen Joseph (Fosla Academy).
The contingent touched down in Morocco's commercial capital on Wednesday, immediately transitioning into their final phase of pre-tournament acclimatization ahead of the competition proper, which will be hosted across the Rabat metropolitan area.
