After being out of the Atalanta squad since July due to a failed transfer to Inter Milan, Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman has returned to team training. The 27-year-old, who trained individually for several weeks after a public fallout with the club, has met with coach Ivan Jurić to clarify his situation.
The coach, Ivan Jurić, had previously taken a firm public stance, stating he wouldn't "beg" Lookman to play and emphasizing the need for players to show "humility, passion for the shirt, and a sense of belonging." However, sources indicate that Lookman has now been reintegrated into the squad.
While the winger has not yet featured in any competitive games for Atalanta this season, he did play for the Nigerian national team during the recent international break. His return to full training marks a significant step towards a potential return to the first-team. It remains to be seen if he will be included in the squad for the upcoming Champions League opener.
