Brent Blackburn, a 68-year-old senior missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away on Saturday, August 23, following a lawn mower accident. The incident occurred at the historic Adam-ondi-Ahman site in Missouri, a property owned by the church.
According to reports, the accident happened when the lawn mower Blackburn was operating overturned while on a side hill. Blackburn and his wife, Carolyn, had been serving as volunteers at the site since April 2025.
The Church's spokesperson, Sam Penrod, confirmed the tragic news and offered condolences and prayers to the Blackburn family. Brent Blackburn was originally from Utah and had dedicated his time to serving the church.
