First Lady's Renewed Hope Initiative Empowers 1,000 Women and PWDs in Lagos

— The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), has launched a significant empowerment program for women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Lagos State. The event saw 1,000 beneficiaries receive essential tools and equipment to start and grow sustainable businesses.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was present at the event, lauded the First Lady's commitment to uplifting women, stating that her belief in the central role of women in societal progress is a conviction shared by the Lagos State Government. The state government demonstrated its support by providing an additional 500 empowerment items to expand the program's reach. .

The initiative aims to provide beneficiaries with the necessary resources to improve their livelihoods and become self-reliant. The items distributed included a variety of tools and equipment relevant to different trades, such as sewing machines, grinding machines, and hair dryers.


In his address to the beneficiaries, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged them to use the gifts wisely to grow their businesses and, in doing so, contribute to the economic prosperity of their families and Lagos State. The program is seen as a key step in the government's broader strategy to reduce poverty and promote economic inclusion for all citizens.
