BREAKING: Trump Appoints Sergio Gor as U.S. Ambassador to India

In a significant diplomatic move, President Donald Trump has nominated his longtime aide and current White House Presidential Personnel Office director, Sergio Gor, as the next U.S. Ambassador to India. The announcement, made by the President on a social media platform, also states that Gor will serve as a Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.

The nomination comes at a delicate time for U.S.-India relations, which have been strained by recent tariff disputes. Trump praised the 38-year-old Gor, calling him a "great friend" and highlighting his essential role in hiring nearly 4,000 officials across the federal government. The President stated his need for someone he "can fully trust" to deliver on his agenda in the world's most populous region.

Gor, who previously served as a key political operative for Trump's campaigns and a pro-Trump super PAC, will remain in his current role until his confirmation by the Senate. He will succeed Eric Garcetti, who held the position until January 2025.

The appointment, which marks a significant promotion for the trusted insider, has been endorsed by Vice President J.D. Vance, who called Gor "a fantastic ambassador."
